Less is More # 406

Hello there,

I'm back with my entry for the latest challenge at Simply Less is More which is a colour challenge.

I've been really busy this last week with commissions and family cards which has given me some time to think about how to use the challenge.
It was during a conversation mid week when someone pointed out that my newest Gt grand daughter was a rainbow baby. I'm sure you all know but for those who don't, a rainbow baby is one born after the loss, through miscarriage, still birth or early death of a baby.
Actually my eldest grand daughter, my gt grand daughters mum is also a rainbow baby so I've used that for my design. Rainbow babies are extra special.

I started with a heart stencil from Studio 75 and used a piece of scrap card with a die cut heart over the top.
I then used Versa colour inks in Orchid, Marigold, Canary, Lime, Cyan and Heliotrope.
The words dies are from Brittania dies cut from silver mirror card.

Baby book card

Hello there,

On September 24th my newest Gt Grand daughter Elsie Mae was born. She was 8 weeks early, weighing just 3lb 3.5 oz but she's doing extremely well. She's breathing on her own and just has a feeding tube but is gaining weight and able to have cuddles from mum & dad.

Backing papers are by The Lovely Studio
Doily die by The Works
Letter dies by Yvonne Crafts
Pram Die by Joanna Sheen
Flowers by Wild Orchid crafts
The border at the top and bottom of the pages is a punch from X cut.

I love making these book cards but they take a long time and are quite fiddly, especially the pages. I had 3 of them to make last week and by heck is was quite stressful working to a deadline. I really don't think I could do this as anything other than a hobby.

Thanks for popping in x

Less is More # 405

Hi,
Welcome to my new blog and a very big welcome to my followers, old and new. I'm so glad you found me and as soon as I can I'll take a look at your blogs too.
I must admit, as I've got older, setting up this blog has been a lot harder than my old one. That was 10 years ago and now  I keep looking at things and haven't a clue what to do. No doubt I'll suss it out, it'll just take a little longer lol.

I'm here today to share my entry for the new challenge at Simply Less is More which is a recipe.

It could be, Sparkle and Gloss
                   Sparkle and Matte
                   Sparkle and Pearl
           or     Sparkle and Chalky

I've gone with Sparkle and Pearl

 and a close up

I've used snippets for the die cut tree's, some pearlized card, some patterned paper and some glitter card.
The sentiment is stamped in Versacolor Magenta and embossed in clear EP then cut out with a slim rectangle die.
The dies are from Simply Graphic.
The glitter card is an unusual shade of green but I can't remember where I bought it. It could be The Range or The Works or, more than likely one of the Pound shops because I'm classy like that lol.
I've added a few flat back pearls to finish.

Thank you for visiting x
