One card, two looks, two challnges.

Hello there,

I'm popping in with a card I've made for two challenges today. It's sort of a card with two faces. You'll understand better when you see the pics, one is kept quite plain while the second is jazzed up just a tiny bit.

I'm entering this into,

Simply Less is More which is to use a little bit more than the tiny image we used last time while still keeping it clean & simple.

Also for,

Time Out We can use the whole phrase on our cards or just some of the words.

Here is my first entry for Less is More

Keeping it clean with a Stencil from Alexandra Renke using home made texture paste.
After removing the stencil I smothered the image in Gold embossing power and left it to dry for few hours.
Once dry I heat embossed it and stamped and embossed my sentiment.
Lots of clean space although not white. I thought the gold would look fabulous on this gorgeous teal card and I am pleased with the result.

After photographing the first card I added some sequins for the Time Out challenge.

A close up of the sentiment.

I've used the words Birthday and Party with this stamp from Wplus9
The sequins I added to represent confetti and also because I love sparkly things.

Thanks for popping in X

A Man card

Hi there,

The February challenge at A Place to start is to create a masculine card or project. I find man cards quite difficult so don't make many and when I do they tend to follow the same basic design of manly coloured papers with layers, tags or banners. So I've come up with something a little bit different this time

It's my elderly neighbours birthday next week. He's not in good health but always tries to be as cheerful as possible. It's because of his health that I was stuck for ideas really. The shops are full of cards with pics of anything sporty, glasses of beer or flashy cars.
John  is in his 80's, he can't walk more than 3 steps without a rest, he's just had his licence revoked because of his ill health and he can't drink alcohol. I didn't want him to think I was taking the micky but now I'm worried this one might be a bit too modern for him.

I cut the leaves from some scraps of card that I'd smooshed with distress inks
The wood effect paper is from Lemon Craft
I made the frame using 2 sets of rectangle dies.
The sentiment is PC generated.

Dies by
The Works
Simply Graphic
Spellbinders
Caroles crafts

No matter what, I know he'll be too polite to say anything but nice things.

CAS Christmas February challenge

Hello there,

February already and a super new challenge at Cas Christmas

And this is my entry,

To be honest I don't get much joy from snow. It's cold and slippy but it does look good on cards and pictures.

Snowflakes are by Inkadinkado, stamped in clear ink and embossed in sky blue EP
The JOY die is by Memory Box. I cut 2 in white card and 1 in silver mirri and stacked them to give some depth.
Sequins from stash

Happy 9th Birthday Less is More

Hi there,

Yes, this week it's 9 years since the very first Simply Less is More challenge.
I joined in then and, although I had a bit of gap a couple of years ago, I'm still looking forward to our now fortnightly challenges.

This time the theme is

so a small image and very little else.

This is what I came up with,

I struggled to find a stamp small enough but came across this very old stamp set from Elusive Images.

Stamped in Versafine black and embossed in clear EP.
The sentiment is from a small set by Flourishes.
The close up shows my rubbish attempt at water colouring with DI. It looks a bit better in real life.

And get this,  even though it's not one layer week this is a one layer card...go me lol.

So, seeing as it's 9 years since the start of this challenge blog I've had a scroll through past entries and found my first less is more card.

Funnily enough this one also has a stamped image from Elusive Images and a sentiment from the same Flourishes set.

I'm also entering this card into the Perfectly CaS challenge which is a one layer card.
