A brand new blog

Hello there and welcome to my new blog.

You all know me as Lynne from Cards from Lynne's Loft but I have struggled for a long time with a poorly lap top and my posts have been few and far between. My lovely daughter in law gave me her old laptop when she got a new one and at last I can use it properly.
Unfortunately someone who will not be named but who is the partner of my daughter in law ( hee hee) messed all the settings and passwords up for the old blog so I'm starting afresh and he isn't going near this one.

I'm starting with a male card, always tricky for me but I'm pleased with this.

I made a book card. I've made lots of these type of card before but always either for females or babies with lots of flowers and a big blousy bow.
I had to think hard to get this NOT looking feminine. I think I pulled it off

The 'pages'

Inside

The backing paper is Ticking by The lovely studio
The leaves and numbers are made using card smooshed with distress inks and sprayed with gold glimmer mist, then cut out with dies from Sizzix, The Works and Memory Box.

I struggled to think how I could close the book without a ribbon and then had a light bulb moment.
I cut a strip of card 3 times longer than the width of the book spine, then scored into thirds. Then used a corner punch to round the corners off.
I covered it in the backing paper and added a small square of a Velcro strip to the front and back and Voila!

If you come across my little blog please follow me. It took me a long time to build up my following and I don't want to lose the friends I've made over the years.

  3. What a lot of work Lynne, it looks great too. I make simpler and simpler masculine cards these days as the men only give them a quick glance I find....well you know men lol! (unless they are funny ones) ;) Viv xx
