Emilia's 1st birthday bash

Hi there

It's my youngest grand daughter Emilia's 1st birthday today.
As we can meet up with 6 family members in an open space from tomorrow, we cheated and started our lockdown relaxing 24 hours early and celebrated at the birthday girls garden this afternoon. It was so lovely to actually see them all properly and not have to shout from the garden gate. We did do social distancing but there were a few moments when Emilia decided to crawl out of the gate or try to eat the flowers.

I made a couple of cards. The first one is from me and hubby, the second one I was asked by Em's dad to make a card with her favourite television character Raa Raa the very noisy lion. Neither of them are very good. I feel I've turned the clock back 10 years and gone back to basics.
However, the thing I want to really show off is the present I made for Emilia. This is what has kept me sane throughout lockdown.

My mum made one of these for her grandchildren way back in the 80's. He stayed at her house for all the grands to play with when they visited and still sits on the bed in the spare bedroom.
There is so much detail on these patterns but they are so easy to knit.
I enjoyed it so much I'm in the process of knitting his friend Sally for my gtreat grand daughters birthday.
The pattern is a book of  a family of 7 scarecrows and is available from Amazon.

This is the card I made from me and Emilia's grandad.
DigiPapers by Shabby Princess
Stamp from LOTV, coloured with promarkers and the balloons have been finished with a coating of Glossy Accents.
Bunting die from the works
Heart shaped Ballons from Cottage Cuts
This one was so easy.
I found images of Raa Raa and his friends on google and used a My Craft Studio CD to make the tiled background.
I printed Raa Raa onto a piece of card and made the sentiment at the same time. Cut them out with a couple of circle nested dies.
I added some more balloons to fill the corner and a foam glittered number one.
Really basic and not one of my better makes but they both went down well.

I'll finish quickly with just one photo of Emilia after demolishing a huge piece of birthday cake. It was everywhere.

20th Wedding Anniversary

Hi there,

It's my eldest daughter Cheryl and her husband Darren's 20th wedding anniversary tomorrow (wednesday).

I woke up with this design on my mind one day last week so just ran with it. I really wish it was that easy all the time.
Started by making a circle mask from a piece of scrap copy paper and stamped the script lightly to give it a slightly distressed look, then embossed in gold EP.
I sponged some TH berry red distress ink onto a piece of white card leaving enough space to fit the flower die so the heads were coloured but the stems stayed white and die cut them.
The heart is diecut from an off cut of red pearl card and I've used a small circle die to slot the flower stems into.
I used another tiny piece of red pearl card for the sentiment and numbers.

I'm really pleased with this one and how easy it all went together.

Script stamp- Indigo Blu
Heart die- Sizzix
Circle die- Spellbinders

Numbers die -Yvonnes Crafts

Book card

Hi there,

I don't make so many fussy cards now but I was asked to make a book card for my daughter in laws, mum's, friend's, grand daughter's 18th birthday ( Ha, try saying that after a couple of glasses of vino).

I was told that any colour would do so I went with hot pink flowers
I haven't a clue what 18 year olds are into now but pink is very girly

Inside front. I don't over decorate the inside as the flowers tend to catch on the pages if I get too carried away.

Inside back with pages.

Die frame from Amazon
Leaf Die from The Works

Less is More #419

Hi there

It's Saturday (I think) and that means time for a brand new challenge at Less is More and this time it's a colour challenge.

These are not colours I would normally put together but after a bit of thought this is what I came up with.
I tried cream on white aswell as white on cream but decided I was happier with white on cream.
I began by randomly stamping some distressed dots from Paper Smooches Kissables 1 set embossed in white EP.
The square frames are from Amazon as is the bird which is part of a Christmas die set.
The branch is Memory Box.
I couldn't find a sentiment stamp to go with this so did one on the computer.

CAS Christmas May 2020

Hi there,

I can't tell you enough how delighted I am to have been chosen as Guest DT CAS Christmas Challenge for May.
This months challenge is,

I seem to have used Holly and Mistletoe quite a lot lately so I had to really think about this one and do something slightly different whilst keeping to the theme. I hope you like it.

I started by splattering some gold shimmer mist across the upper middle of the card base.
I cut out the skinny frames from a die set from Amazon in Ivory pearlised card.
The branch is part of a much larger branch. I die cut the whole thing in brown card and chose a smaller branch that fit perfectly into the frame.
I finished off with some berry red Pearl Maker.
The sentiment is by Winnie & Walter
