Affectionate or sloppy?

Hi There,

I've been toying with what else to do with my new (to me) embossing folder and had got as far as getting two shades of grey card on my desk. I was given a bolt of inspiration from two challenge blogs today so I got busy and came up with this.

I used dark grey card to make an A5 card and a snippet of pale grey, cut with a rectangle die from Die-namics and run through the EF from We are memory keepers.
I cut the heart flowers from Amazon, twice, once in white and once in red pearlized card, then chopped the hearts off and mixed them up.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges,

A just for fun card

Hi There,

I don't often make cards just for the fun of it but I've just received an embossing folder that I've had my eye on for ages and couldn't wait to start playing with it.

The EF is by We Are Memory Keepers and I'm so in love with it. I think you're going to see quite a lot of it in the future.

Although it looks fab on it's own, I've dressed it up a bit for this one with some gems.

Dies are, frame Die- namics
Flower , Memory Box
Sentiment is Anita's craft.

Less is More #411

Hi there

Well I'm a bit late with my entry for the new challenge at Simply Less is More, which is a one layer card and with the design off centre.

We don't normally bother with Valentine cards in our house. After nearly 44 years together we don't need reminding that we quite like each other, but I decided to use a tiny stamp from Penny Black Love set for my card.

Simply stamped, masked and a bit of sponging around the image, then coloured with Promarkers.
The sentiment stamp is by Avery Elle.

Apologies for the rubbish photo I have no clue why it turned out blurry.

Man card

Hi there,

I don't make many cards for men, I find them quite difficult and mine often end up looking like one of the grand kids has made it. I had to bite the bullet last week and make one for my brother in law and, while I don't think I'll get any awards for it, I'm quite pleased with the end result.

A very simple design, the hardest part was getting the right shades of blue.

Papers are all offcuts from my stash so no names I'm afraid
Stars are cut with Sizzix star dies from pearlized card and silver glitter card
Sentiment is PC generated

CAS Christmas card

Hi there,

Welcome to my new followers and thank you for following my little blog.

So, I got myself into such a tizzy last Christmas with my cards. I didn't have a lot of time and had very little mojo. I promised myself I would make an early start this year and thought what better way to get going and find inspiration than to find a Christmas card challenge blog.
I know there lots of them about and I'll check some more out later but for now I've decided on
Cas Christmas Card Challenge Blog. Which is right up my street. Why didn't I think about this before?
This months challenge is to use a tag.

I'm also entering this as my second entry into  A Place to Start which is Anything goes with an optional twist of CAS

I started with the tag, cut from a snippet of card with a tag die from Amason and embossed with a Holly EF from The Works.
The fir branch is cut with another die from The Works.
Mistletoe is cut from sage green glitter card using a die from Sweet Dixie
The berry branch cut from red glitter card is by Simply Graphic
Sentiment stamp is Winnie & Walter
Gems and bow from stash.

Less is More #410

Hi,

After what seems like a very long time while the girls had a well deserved break over the holiday period, it's time for another challenge at Less is More
This time it's a colour challenge

I find it quite difficult to workout shades of colour on the computer so I really didn't know what shade of blue was True Blue, so I googled it,as you do.
Apparently, according to wiki, true blue is a shade of Azure or Summer Sky so that's what I went with. Apologies if it's wrong.

I started by marbling some card off cuts using shaving foam and Ceruleum acrylic paint.
The triangles are cut from two dies to make a frame in Coral card.
All dies are from Amazon
Sentiment stamp is from a Valentines set by Avery Elle.

I'm also entering this card into the January challenge at A place to start which has an anything goes challenge with an optional twist of Clean and Simple.

Birthday Book Card

Hello there,

I was asked to make a special card for my son's mum in laws 65th birthday.

The front of the book

The inside pages

The lady in question is from Latvia originally and, because it was a special birthday her two sisters came to the UK to visit her.
They were really impressed with the card and have ordered two more for later in the year for other family members. I'm chuffed to bits.

Sentiment die is by Marianne designs.

Quite clean and simple. I made the circle frame using 2 circle dies from Memory Box
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Leaves are by The Works.
Backing paper is from The Lovely Studio.
