Less is More # 458

 Hello there,

We're back!

Welcome to our first challenge of 2022.

While we are sad to see Sharon, Anita and Izzy say goodbye to us, we are so pleased that Kylie has stepped up as our leader to keep Less is More going. Thank you Kylie.

We have a DT call this month too so please check the blog for information.

It's also our 11th birthday month which is why we're asking you to celebrate with us with your birthday designs.

I used some small pieces of card from my snippets box ( I am getting through them, slowly) to make the balloons. All the patterns are The Lovely Studio and I've gone with the brightest colours I could find.

The balloon die is ( I think) from Amazon.

The letter dies are from Yvonnes Crafts

The sentiment stamp is by Flourishes.

I've added some flat back pearls for decoration.

Please check out the challenge blog for more fabulous inspiration and don't forget the DT call.

Thanks for popping in

Inkspirational Challenge, Hearts.

 Hello there,

It's ages since I joined in at Inkspirational Challenge

but as soon as I saw the prompt I knew I had to have a go.

Me and hubby will have been married for 45 years this April and the days of Valentine cards to each other disappeared decades ago but that doesn't stop me from making them. Maybe one of the kids can make use of it.

I started with a small, scrap piece of card I'd smooshed with Twinkling H2O's in different shades of pink, ages ago ( I never throw even the smallest pieces away, you never know what they'll come in handy for).

I cut that out with a Sissix heart die.

The alphabet and ampersand were cut out of hot pink card with dies from Yvonne Creations and Memory Box.

The tiny hears are cut using a small punch out of the same scrap card as the larger heart.

Sentiment is computer generated.

You never know, I might just shock OH with a card this year afterall.

Thanks for popping in x

20th Wedding Anniversary

Hi there,

It's my eldest daughter Cheryl and her husband Darren's 20th wedding anniversary tomorrow (wednesday).

I woke up with this design on my mind one day last week so just ran with it. I really wish it was that easy all the time.
Started by making a circle mask from a piece of scrap copy paper and stamped the script lightly to give it a slightly distressed look, then embossed in gold EP.
I sponged some TH berry red distress ink onto a piece of white card leaving enough space to fit the flower die so the heads were coloured but the stems stayed white and die cut them.
The heart is diecut from an off cut of red pearl card and I've used a small circle die to slot the flower stems into.
I used another tiny piece of red pearl card for the sentiment and numbers.

I'm really pleased with this one and how easy it all went together.

Script stamp- Indigo Blu
Heart die- Sizzix
Circle die- Spellbinders
Flowers- Amazon
Numbers die -Yvonnes Crafts

Baby book card

Hello there,

On September 24th my newest Gt Grand daughter Elsie Mae was born. She was 8 weeks early, weighing just 3lb 3.5 oz but she's doing extremely well. She's breathing on her own and just has a feeding tube but is gaining weight and able to have cuddles from mum & dad.

Backing papers are by The Lovely Studio
Doily die by The Works
Letter dies by Yvonne Crafts
Pram Die by Joanna Sheen
Flowers by Wild Orchid crafts
The border at the top and bottom of the pages is a punch from X cut.

I love making these book cards but they take a long time and are quite fiddly, especially the pages. I had 3 of them to make last week and by heck is was quite stressful working to a deadline. I really don't think I could do this as anything other than a hobby.

Thanks for popping in x
