Emilia's 1st birthday bash

Hi there

It's my youngest grand daughter Emilia's 1st birthday today.
As we can meet up with 6 family members in an open space from tomorrow, we cheated and started our lockdown relaxing 24 hours early and celebrated at the birthday girls garden this afternoon. It was so lovely to actually see them all properly and not have to shout from the garden gate. We did do social distancing but there were a few moments when Emilia decided to crawl out of the gate or try to eat the flowers.

I made a couple of cards. The first one is from me and hubby, the second one I was asked by Em's dad to make a card with her favourite television character Raa Raa the very noisy lion. Neither of them are very good. I feel I've turned the clock back 10 years and gone back to basics.
However, the thing I want to really show off is the present I made for Emilia. This is what has kept me sane throughout lockdown.

My mum made one of these for her grandchildren way back in the 80's. He stayed at her house for all the grands to play with when they visited and still sits on the bed in the spare bedroom.
There is so much detail on these patterns but they are so easy to knit.
I enjoyed it so much I'm in the process of knitting his friend Sally for my gtreat grand daughters birthday.
The pattern is a book of  a family of 7 scarecrows and is available from Amazon.

This is the card I made from me and Emilia's grandad.
DigiPapers by Shabby Princess
Stamp from LOTV, coloured with promarkers and the balloons have been finished with a coating of Glossy Accents.
Bunting die from the works
Heart shaped Ballons from Cottage Cuts
This one was so easy.
I found images of Raa Raa and his friends on google and used a My Craft Studio CD to make the tiled background.
I printed Raa Raa onto a piece of card and made the sentiment at the same time. Cut them out with a couple of circle nested dies.
I added some more balloons to fill the corner and a foam glittered number one.
Really basic and not one of my better makes but they both went down well.

I'll finish quickly with just one photo of Emilia after demolishing a huge piece of birthday cake. It was everywhere.

Thanks for popping in x
